Why buy a feedlocker?
The design and arrangement of facilities in the tack
and feed room have the biggest influence on stable management. Facilities
which are well planned and well designed make horse care easier and more
enjoyable.
Feeding is one of the most important tasks around
the stable and should be a pleasurable experience. However, in a poorly
arranged feed room this task can become cumbersome and detrimental to the
health of the horse.
Feed must be located in a convenient position away
from moisture, be vermin proof and there must also be quick and easy access
for removing old feed and replenishing with new when empty. Water and/or
moisture will spoil the feed making it unpalatable and will accelerate the
rotting process.
The amount of feed storage required depends upon
the number of horses to be fed, their feed requirements and how often the
feed needs to be replenished. Feed storage units should be small and light
enough to moved if required, but also large enough to ensure adequate feed
is stored and not need refilling every few days. If the feed storage unit is
too small, the feed which does not fit into the unit is often left in the
feed room in open bags encouraging the possibility of contamination,
accelerated nutritional loss and the inability to clean the feed room on a
regular basis: A priority if health and safety are to be maintained.
Feedlockers have been designed to hold a full bag
of chaff alon with additional feed requirements. The feed locker ensures
that the feed is used on a first-in-first-out basis. This ensures that the
horse always recieves a consistent feed, vital to a healthy diet.
Easy and safe to use, secure, robust, yet light
enough to move when empty, the Feedlocker is the ultimate solution for feed
storage! |
