What is a feedlocker?
The Feed Locker is a
uniquely designed product which allows all animal feed to be rotated, ensuring
that the feed given is consistent and always fresh. Designed in the style of a
hopper, the Feed Locker allows full bags of feed to be loaded at the top and the
feed to be drawn from the bottom. This ensures that the feed used is always
rotated.
Why should I use a
Feed Locker?
With all animal feeds, it is
imperative for the wellbeing of the animal to ensure a consistent feed. A common
cause of animals becoming unwell is that the feed has become old or contaminated
and lost its vital vitamins and nutrition. With conventional feed bins, the feed
is drawn from the top leaving the oldest feed at the bottom. More often than
not, when new feed is delivered this is added to the top of the bin. Eventually
the remains at the bottom of the bin start to rot and the whole feed mixture is
lost. With the Feed Locker you are always guaranteed to use the feed in a first
in first out basis. This ensures that the feed is always of a consistent mix.
How
long will the Feed Locker last?
The Feed Locker has been designed to last indefinitely. Made from hard
wearing plastic with welded brass hinges, the Feed Locker should give years of
use. The Feed Locker comes with a 12 month guarantee against faulty manufacture.
What is a Feed Locker
made of?
Feed Lockers are manufactured from long lasting lightweight sheets of
4.5mm thick Poly-Vinyl-Chloride (PVC). This is then precision cut to size and
welded using 3mm diameter PVC filler rod. Electro plated brass finished hinges
are fixed in position using black or natural alu-steel rivets to the top and
draw. Vision slots are covered with 3mm thick clear pvc, fully welded to the
internal face of the Feed Locker.
